Limericks

We have been studying limericks this week by Edward Lear. Limericks are a 5 line poem and you have to make sure that:
Lines 1, 2, 5 rhyme
Lines 3 and 4 rhyme
The rythym is always the same

Our favourites were:

There was a young lady named Cait
Who went to the shops and bought bait
She went with her man
And her kids in a van
O that lovely young lady named Cait

There was a young nman called Sam
Who went to his Dad's to buy ham
He went miles and miles
And ended up in piles
O that poor old lad named Sam

There was a young girl with a braid
Who all she did was played
One day she got tired
And her boss got her fired
So she no longer wears a braid
